Biography

Alex Craigie is an AV-Preeminent rated trial attorney recognized for bringing an innovative and cost-effective approach to helping California employers prevent, address and resolve employment disputes. Mr. Craigie defends claims of harassment, discrimination and retaliation, as well as misclassification, wage-hour, rest and meal period claims. He provides ongoing advice and counseling to help employers avoid claims and represents both individuals and employers in negotiating and drafting employment-related agreements, including employment contracts, retention and severance agreements. Mr. Craigie’s experience spans the tech, automotive, aviation, consumer finance, food service, entertainment, manufacturing, medical practice, professional service, property management, retail and hospitality/tourism industries.

A recognized thought leader in employment law and trial tactics, Mr. Craigie has been interviewed, quoted and published in various media outlets, including The Los Angeles Daily Journal, the Los Angeles Times, California Litigation, ACC Docket, Nonprofit World, California Lawyer, Small Business Los Angeles, and For the Defense. He has also served as an Adjunct Instructor on the Legal Aspects of Employment Practice for the UC Santa Barbara Human Resource Management Professional Certificate Program. He regularly lectures to business and human resources organizations throughout California on employment law topics.

Mr. Craigie is active in various philanthropic organizations, including Child Abuse Listening and Mediation (CALM), where he serves on the Board of Trustees and the Strategic Planning and Finance committees. He also serves on the Personnel Committee for Santa Barbara Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care (VNHC).
